One in You
“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” John 17:12 NKJV
This poem is a guest post from M. S. Arthadian of Disciple’s Prayers, graciously hosted by Creation Awaits. This psalm is written for Christ’s Church, for all who love and know Him, may this be in your prayers and bring you closer to Him. This is inspired from Jesus’s prayer for unity in John 17:21-24. Through this collaboration, Creation Awaits and Disciple’s Prayers hope to enrich your understanding of God’s desire for unity in the body of Christ. Be sure to read Creation Awaits’ poem on unity on the Disciple’s Prayers Substack.
A Heart so pure of majesty that cries out for those that flee.
The beating of Your prayer so deep it calls out for unity.
Our Lord, the Christ, the King of Kings, lowers Himself to His knees.
In perfect Union with a Father that decrees,
“Love My Son, listen to Him, and You will know Me.”
He pours out His heart, with blood that trickles down His head.
Where soon a crown of thorns will be placed, for us He bled.
Our sins erased in Him alone as He takes His place on Heaven’s throne.
But before He drinks from the cup so deep, He prays for us to live His Unity.
“And the glory which You gave Me I give to them, that they may be one just as We are One,”
Now we look to the cross that frees our captive siblings we venture to bring,
To His Kingdom we will build and thrive, let Christ be in you and come alive!
