And sell the soul for silken skins laid bare.

A thousand voices rise like locust swarms,
Chanting the news that kings would have us see;
Their honeyed lies descend like putrid worms,
Till willing fools applaud the mockery.
V. Robed Injustice
The scales of justice tip and bend to spite,
As judges feast on Babylonian wine;
Blindfold removed, they barter wrong for right,
And strike the victim’s plea from every line.
VI. Yoke of the Poor
The poor and homeless labor without wage,
Their sweat is culled and squeezed like blood from stone;
While masters toast the theft and feign outrage—
They heap new chains on souls they claim to own.
VII. Cry of the Watchman
Yet lanterns wait to shine upon dark deeds—
O sleepless hearts, take courage, lift the light!
